Configuring the Multi Function Feature
As one of the Automatic Capture methods provided by DocuPhase, this feature allows Users to divide large groups of incoming pages that have been processed via a Mutli Funcion Device (MFD) to enhance the efficiency of capturing and Indexing the Documents. The configuration of this feature includes defining the incoming, outgoing, and source status that apply to the Applications to which such Documents are being added.
IMPORTANT!
This feature works with TIFF files only. Please contact your organization's TPOC for more information.
TIPS
- Multi-Function Devices (MFD) are devices possessing a combination of functions that include Document scanning and image capture capabilities such as found with certain copy machines and printers, etc.
- To access the User Configurationscreen: from the main header, go to AdministrationCAPTUREMulti Function Configuration.

The purpose of the Multifunction Service is to split large groups of incoming, multi-page files uploaded using patch-code* to separate individual Documents. This process typically consists of the following:
- An assignment of a status code (with “M” being the standard status) to the group of Document pages.
- The configuration recognizes that the status code “M” as a combination Document to be processed and split (based on the patch-code*).
- The individual ("split-out") Documents are output with a status code corresponding to the outgoing-status specified in configuration as described above.
*A patch code is a pattern of parallel, alternating black bars and spaces (a barcode)
that is printed on a Document, and acts as a Document separator.
