The Document Index Properties Form contains the following fields:
Application
This is a read-only field and is
populated with the DocuPhase application selected while adding the document
definition for this index (see Document Definition Properties Form).
Index (required)
Contains a drop-down list of
available DocuPhase index names to assign to this document index.
Special Processing
This button enables data
manipulation options to be applied to an extracted index value. (see Special
Processing Form)
Extract Type
The extract method iDox should use to
extract an index value from within an index zone.
§ Fixed - the index value will always be within the defined index zone. This is the default value.
§ Tagged – the index value will be in a position relative to a literal value within the defined index zone. Selecting a Tagged extract method re-displays the Document Index Properties Form to prompt the user to enter a Tag Value and a Data Location (see Tagged Index Values).
§ Masked – the index value will be the result of a mask pattern translation from within the defined index zone. Selecting a Masked extract method re-displays the Document Index Properties Form to prompt the user to enter one or more Mask Value patterns (see Masked Index Values).
Delimiters
Delimiters allow a value to be extracted
between a starting delimiter and an ending delimiter. A delimiter can be any
single character as well as a space. The starting and ending # sign represents
the position of the delimiter within the value. For example, if a user wanted to
extract the day from a 12/15/2006 value, the starting delimiter is 
and the ending delimiter is 
.
This instructs iDox to extract the value between the first “/ “character and the
second “/” character. The extracted value “15” would be the index value to be
inserted into DocuPhase.
Extracted Value
The value iDox extracts from within
a defined index zone using one of the three extract type methods (Fixed, Tagged
or Masked).
Index Value
The index value that will be inserted
into DocuPhase as a result of the index extraction method selected, as well as
any special processing and/or delimiters that have been applied.
If an index value is invalid or cannot be extracted, an error message will display in the status bar notifying the user the cause of the error.
