Using Calendars in Progression-Based Workflow

The Progression Designer is able to employ the default 24-hour-per-day, 7-day-per-week, 365-days-per-year calendar as well as select from the Custom Calendars you specify to add timer control to workflow date/time-dependent tasks and actions such as a:

Wait Task – This type of progression task can wait based on logic rules that delay a work item until one or more documents, events or a maximum elapsed time has satisfied its set of Rules.  These Rule conditions related to date and time can be specified with respect to a specified calendar.

Notification Event – Upon occurrence of an event, appropriate notification emails can be dispatched based on a specified interval of time with respect to a specified calendar.

Suspension Event – A specific time limit can be defined to control the maximum amount of time this workflow task can be suspended to prevent the work-item from languishing too long or being forgotten.

As the Progression Designer is configuring workflow process tasks, calendar-specific timer control can be specified when appropriate using definition fields like the example shown below.

The Progression Advanced User Manual describes the use of calendars in workflow tasks in the sections: Custom Calendars and Task Definition (for the Time-Dependent Tasks and Tabs).
