While the DocuPhase UI with its Image Viewer is browser-based using the HTML5 Lightweight Viewer which allows it to work with workstation and mobile device browsers, ScanDox is integrated with its own ActiveX Heavyweight Viewer which is downloaded and installed on your capture workstation for production capture usage.
The ScanDox component needs to be installed on specific capture workstations since it must efficiently integrate with scanning devices; plus meet the demands for image manipulation and document capture.
Note: The interfaces for the Heavyweight and Lightweight viewers are similar and both can now view and apply annotations, but they each have a somewhat different appearance and organization.
ScanDox will continue to use its own integrated Heavyweight Viewer, while the DocuPhase user will only retain the option to continue to use the Heavyweight Viewer during this 6.1 release – Thereafter, the DocuPhase UI will only support the HTML5 Lightweight viewer since it now has full functionality for workstation and mobile devices.
The ScanDox Image Viewer panel provides the user three (3) Page View Selector options to view pages of the current document, as shown below in the panel on the right. The three (3) Page View Selector icons are for:
