The Analytics Main Page

The main Analytics page displayed in a web-browser, as shown below with the Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) browser, consists of five elements, the:

1.  Toolbar beneath the address bar in the browser window
(Only with Design Permission),

2.  Criteria Bar (Optionally Displayed)

3.  Workarea to the right

4.  Smartpad to the left  (Can be hidden for Full-Screen Work Area), with:

An overview of the basic DocuPhase Analytics page is shown below with some of its features displayed and identified.

 

 

 

The following table describes the elements of the DocuPhase Analytics User(UI).

Design Toolbar

The Analytics Design Toolbar is displayed to users that have been granted Analytics Designer permissions.

 

Without access to this toolbar, Analytics Viewer and Dashboard users can only view and make temporary adjustments to the data, criteria, drilldowns and types of renderings since they cannot Save and Share any changes or utilize the variety of powerful design function provided by the Design Toolbar on its three tabs:  File, Home & Tools tabs, which are summarized below.

 

 

Criteria Bar

The Criteria Bar is only visible when a filter criteria has been defined and activated for the current Analysis on display in the Analytics Work Area.

 

Smartpad Panel

The Smartpad Panel allows the user to select a tab and display its contents for interactive use in the Selected Tab’s Display Area, shown below.

§ Smartpad’s Tab Display Work Area

The Smartpad’s Tab Display Work Area presents the content for each Smartpad Tab after a Tab has been selected in the stack below.

Depending on the user’s permission settings, the use is able to select, view and update the content for the currently-selected Tab.

Note:  The Work Area content and layout is specific to each type of Smartpad Tab.  For example the illustration on the left is for the Documents Tab.

 

§ Search Field

 

The Analytics Search Field appears in the Documents Tab and in the Source Data Tab display area to allow for searches for Analytics Documents or Data Source definitions, respectively depending on which of these tabs is current.

 Note: Although the Search field and its Search icon ( ) are displayed as grey controls, when they appear they are active and available for use to locate the items you request.

 

§ Documents Tab

 

The Documents Tab is clicked to have the above Tab Display Area present the Analytics Documents and Folders that can be interactively selected and manipulated.

§ Source Data Tab

The Source Data Tab is clicked to have the above Tab Display Area present the Analytics data sources such as source groups, relational data cubes and multi-dimensional data cubes along with their pre-defined Dimensions and Measures that can be interactively selected and manipulated by Analytics Designers and Administrators.

§ Properties Tab

The Properties Tab is clicked to have the above Tab Display Area present the Analytics properties that can be interactively selected and manipulated to set and update.

§ Calculations Tab

The Calculations Tab is clicked to have the above Tab Display Area present the Analytics computation that can be interactively selected by to view and/or be updated by Analytics Designers.

 

§ Criteria Tab

The Criteria Tab is clicked to have the above Tab Display Area present the Analytics Global and Local data filter criteria that can be interactively selected, activated/de-activated and edited.

 

§ Drillpad Tab

The Drillpad Tab is clicked to have the above Tab Display Area present the current history of active drill-down operations performed in this Analytics session.

§ Scheduled Jobs Tab

The Scheduled Jobs Tab is clicked to have the above Tab Display Area present any data preparation jobs that are scheduled or in-process.
