Understanding Work Queues and Work Items
In general, a Queue is the area of the system where you can access Work Items. The way your permissions are set up within the system determines what Queues you can see and use; some Users may only have access to their Work Items, while some Users may be able to manage Work Items to varying degrees (i.e., reassign, change priority, see corresponding Workflows, etc.).
You may have access to one or more of the following Queues within the DocuPhase system:
NOTES
- Although some Users have more features available in their queue than others, each format has the basic purpose of allowing Users to access the following in order to complete their Work Item(s):
- Please keep in mind that all Queues and Work Items are maintained in real-time. This meansthe system is constantly updating what is in your Queue as data (files) and processes (Workflows and related Work Items) are being added, moved, changed, reassigned, completed, etc.
IMPORTANT!
IF YOU USED A VERSION OF DOCUPHASE PRIOR TO VERSION 6.2...
Please be aware that as of version 6.2, the name of Advanced Work Queue (AWQ) was changed to Classic Queue, while a newer Work Queue interface was created (based on DocuPhase User requests and feedback. This newer Work Queue is known as the Advanced Queue.
Tell me about...
Both the Classic Queue (known in versions prior to 6.2 as the Advanced Work Queue, or AWQ) and Advanced Queue (AQ) provide the same basic functionality: allowing users to access and complete your Work Items. However, as of DocuPhase version 6.2, the Advanced Queue was added to the DocuPhase platform and specifically designed based on the feedback from DocuPhaseUsers. The AQ provides a faster, more efficient user experience, with an updated interface.
