Using DocuPhase & Workflow with Mobile Devices

Wireless Mobile devices are a rapidly expanding sector of the commercial and personal electronic tools market.  Depending on the range of functionality and display capabilities available in some of these computerized devices, many can be used effectively with DocuPhase document management and Progression-based workflow via an internet-browser.

      When a web-browser is used to login to DocuPhase, the Lightweight DocuPhase Document Image allows the viewing and manipulation of images such as: image rotation and display features plus the capability to apply various types of annotations and redactions as a separate overlay so that the original image pages are never altered, but rendered as appropriate with any annotations for viewing and use.
 

      This HTML5 Lightweight viewer for DocuPhase is able to provide full viewing an manipulation support using the following popular browsers:

Apple’s Safari

Google’s Chrome

Mozilla’s Firefox

Microsoft’s Internet Explorer (IE)

 

This viewer is based on HTML version 5 technology which supports the ability to manipulate images and image annotations; plus, it does not need to be downloaded or installed and it includes full-functionality support for the application and use of Annotations and Redactions under enforceable security and permissions controls.

When you access and login to DocuPhase using Safari, Chrome or Firefox web-browsers, the HTML5 Document Image Viewer is utilized automatically.

 

A DocuPhase Preference option can be set so that the Microsoft IE browser will use the HTML5 Lightweight Viewer instead of its optional Heavyweight viewer. 

 

      DocuPhase is web-based providing Document Management and Progression-based Workflow access  which can be used with computer devices having the following platform and browser support:

Laptop and Workstations:

§ On Windows platforms – the DocuPhase Lightweight Viewer using the IE browser is typically employed; although, the heavyweight viewer will temporarily continue as an option.

§ On Windows platforms – the Lightweight Viewer using Chrome, Firefox, Safari or IE browsers can be optionally used

§ On Apple’s MAC platforms – the HTML5 Viewer using the Safari browser is typically employed

Apple iPad – The Lightweight Viewer using the Safari browser

Apple iPhone -- The Lightweight Viewer using the Safari browser

Android – The Lightweight Viewer using its own browser

Mobile device technology is continuing at a rapid pace of expansion and innovation.  The above are some of the devices that have been tested and verified as operational with DocuPhase.

The Apple iPad and iPhone native gesturing features have been implemented and tested with DocuPhase.  However other mobile devices using web-browsers, including Android, can be used with DocuPhase, but native gesturing is not supported at this time.

The DocuPhase mCapture App for iPad/iPhone is available for downloading from the Apple App Store that works with the DocuPhase mCapture product features that are integrated with DocuPhase making remote capture and indexing of iPad/iPhone photos and other types of files into the DocuPhase repository a breeze.

Installation options for DocuPhase, Progression and iAlerts include the ability to employ Secure Sockets Level (SSL) network security protocols for secure authentication and encrypted transmission of document and workflow content to and from Internet browsers allowing end-users to benefit from this security automatically.
