A thumbnail is a reduced-size version of Document page images, used to make it easier to visually scan and recognize them, serving the same role for images as a normal text does for words.
For example, as images are scanned into ScanDox, by default they are displayed in Document groups with each page image presented as a thumbnail to make it easy to view, select and navigate among Documents and their thumbnail images of pages.
